To ensure safety and optimal results during live model practice in microblading training, models must be strictly screened against medical and physical criteria.
The primary safety requirements and contraindications for a microblading live model include:
🚫 Absolute Contraindications (Ineligible)
Models meeting any of the following criteria cannot undergo the procedure for health, safety, and legal reasons:
Age: Must be at least 18 years old (valid ID required).
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Hormonal changes affect healing and pigment retention, and topical anesthetics pose potential risks to the baby.
Accutane (Isotretinoin): Must be completely off Accutane for at least 1 year; the medication thins the skin and increases scarring risk.
Blood-Borne Conditions & Diseases: Active hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, or hemophilia/bleeding disorders.
Autoimmune Disorders & Major Health Conditions: Active cancer/chemotherapy, organ transplants, severe heart conditions, or pacemakers (epinephrine in numbing agents affects heart rate).
Prone to Keloid Scarring: High risk of raised scar formation during the healing process.
📋 Pre-Procedure Safety Guidelines (24–48 Hours Before)
Models must follow these instructions to prevent excessive bleeding (which pushes pigment out and dilutes strokes):
No Alcohol or Caffeine: Avoid for 24 hours prior.
No Blood Thinners: Avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Fish Oil, or Niacin for 24–48 hours prior (unless prescribed).
No Heavy Workouts: Avoid intense exercise on the day of the procedure.
