Every single brow and lash hair has a protective outer shield called the cuticle, which looks like overlapping fish scales. Beneath that shield lies the cortex, the hidden core that holds the hair's natural color.
Our goal is to get premium dyes—like Refectocil or Intensive—past that outer shield and directly into the core.
To open up that protective shield, we mix the tint dye with a gentle $3%$ ($10text{V}$) activator cream in a perfect 1:1 ratio.
The activator gently lifts the hair's outer scales so the fresh color can rush into the core. Once inside, the color molecules expand, trapping themselves permanently inside the hair until it naturally sheds.
Because brows and lashes are completely different textures, you have to manage two entirely different timelines:
Brows (The 5-Minute Sprint): Brow hairs are thin and absorb color incredibly fast. We paint the tails first for deep definition, and the inner fronts last so they stay soft, natural, and perfectly blended.
Lashes (The 10-Minute Saturate): Eyelashes are thick, coarse, and stubborn. To get that dark, glossy, faux-mascara effect (using the industry-favorite Blue-Black tint), the dye needs a full 10 minutes to lock onto every single lash from root to tip.
Tinting is a high-speed, high-return service. A single tube of tint costs pennies per use, but clients will happily pay for the luxury of throwing away their daily mascara and brow pencils.
Because lashes and brows naturally shed every 4 to 6 weeks, your clients will automatically be back in your chair month after month!
